First Days of School

It's back to school time here. Hailey started 1st grade on Monday and is enjoying it immensely. She learned how to tie her shoes just before school started so our getting ready in the morning is full of, "Mom! Come look, I got its." FYI, I do not tie my shoes in the typical fashion thanks to a college mission trip van ride and a friend who taught me an alternative way. Trust me, it's amazing. Hailey is quite proud that she learned this different way.

Micah started school this morning. It has been a year in coming. He soooo wanted to start last year, but he wasn't quite old enough. He was really excited and had a great morning. He will be going to preschool two mornings a week. This time feels so different for me then when Hailey first started school. She was so timid and quiet and she cried. Micah does not possess the same attitude. He is quite a bit older than she was (fall birthday vs. end of summer birthday), and he has never been as timid. He was thrilled to get to go to school and be a big kid.
