Girls Getaway

The first weekend of October, I made my escape for three days of shopping, laughing, and fun with my mom and sisters.

It was a much needed break from the everyday responsibilities of caring for my family and home. I got to eat out without worrying about what anyone else was eating, I only had to dress myself, and I didn't have to referee the latest squabble. It was temporarily bliss.

We went to the Country Fair in Galena...a big craft fair in a cute little town known for their fantastic downtown shopping. It was a cold weekend...it was supposed to have been 50s and sunny, but Saturday was low 40s, overcast, and windy. We browsed and shopped, ate, laughed, talked, reconnected, and relaxed. It was truly a wonderful trip and I am blessed to have such a wonderful mother and two fantastic little sisters.

We are planning to take a little weekend getaway every year. I'm always amazed at how refreshed a little time away can make me. And it was great to get back home and back into the everyday.
