Where I've Been

I've been away from blogging for a while, I want to get caught up and keep up with it so here goes the updates:

Hailey lost her second tooth on November 14th. She let daddy pull this one without much fuss. She is doing great in school and dance and is a wonderful help at home...most of the time.

This is Matt and I at our school's auction. We had a fun night bidding and being with friends. My mom came down and watched the kids for us. (thanks mom!)

November has been one of ups and downs for us medically. We've been dealing with a lot involving our family, some of which I'm not ready to share on a blog, but suffice it to say, it's been a tough year. I had my pre-diabetic status reconfirmed with a high A1C test. So I'm back to watching my carb intake. It seems my gestational diabetes with Mari has taken a toll on my body. But on the plus side, I have some medical motivation to stay healthy. I've lost over 30 lbs and there is nothing wrong with making better choices about food.

This guy also faced a few challenges, though I can't say that he'd know it. At his four year check-up our pediatrician heard a heart murmur that he thought was just a little bit loud, so he sent him in for an echo cardiogram. The echo revealed that Micah has a congenital heart defect called Bicuspid Aortic Valve, which basically means that his aortic valve is not quite as effective as it should be because it only has two flaps instead of three. Right now he is a happy, energetic, four year old and all we will be doing is monitoring it since it's impact on his heart and system is negligible. But he will see a cardiologist for the rest of his life.

This goofy kid is doing great. She is singing up a storm in church, chapel, at home, in the car, wherever. She loves to try and keep up with the big kids and is always getting into something. And yes, she did this to herself. :)
