She Rides!

Last Thursday, Hailey learned how to ride a two-wheeler! We had taken off her training wheels a week prior in a farewell to 1st grade gesture. She started practicing in our back yard with my help holding her upright. We never practiced very long, ten minutes at a time maybe. The third time we were out practicing she managed to balance for a few seconds at a time. Then Thursday she got the hang of it. We moved out of the backyard to the parking lot of a nearby church. It didn't take long for her to gain confidence there. She learned to turn around and practiced getting started by herself. What a fun time! It was exciting for her and for Matt and I.

 

 

A little more practice and she will be ready for a bigger bike. Birthday present perhaps?
