Preparing

Well, I'm working on my 2013 blog book and that always inspires me to get back to blogging. 2014 has gotten off to a pretty good start. Other than a virus that rung in the new year with Hailey. We've gotten back to school after the Polar Vortex went through last week dumping snow and bringing frigid temperatures. Things are pretty well back to normal.

We are busy preparing for the baby. Mari says "I'm ready for baby" almost every morning when she sees the car seat sitting in the living room. I have clothes to wash, a bag to pack, and plans to finish up several projects in the next few weeks.

1) I finally finished Micah's quilt top this past week. As soon as the backing and binding fabric arrive on our doorstep I will be basting and quilting to try and get this project finished.

2) I need to finish the boy version of the baby's monster. I made monsters for all of my nephews and my niece as well as my kids for Christmas. I made up a couple of extra so I could choose one for this baby when he or she arrives but I ran out of thread so I need to finish it up this week.

3) We need to get Micah's and Hailey's class Valentines done early so we aren't scrambling with those.

4) I've been working on organizing 2013 pictures and putting together our book. I'm getting close to being done. As good as it would be to get this done before baby, there really is no rush to finish.

5) I have been changing over files - sorting 2013 paperwork that has been neglected and getting systems in place for 2014.

6) We have been trying to reorganize rooms a bit. We've been looking for bunk beds for the girls and trying to sell the furniture Hailey currently is using. We also need more (and higher quality, aka not falling apart) clothing storage. It is definitely a work in progress, but it will all fall into place eventually.

7) And baby needs to keep cooking - 4 1/2 more weeks or so! I'm starting to feel uncomfortable, but also trying to enjoy the end of this pregnancy. No matter how uncomfortable I am, I always joke that they are a lot quieter at this stage then they are at the next but truth be told we are all looking forward to meeting this little one.

Taken today - 35 weeks and 3 days
