To my second Mom,
One year ago today family and friends gathered around your hospital bed to say goodbye. You got Mari's first "I love you" and while she won't remember that, I always will. We went from hope of full recovery to hope in eternity in just a few days time. This year without you has been harder than I could have imagined and I know its been even harder for your kids and husband. But we are still here, still standing, living out the promise that God is with us in all things. Knowing that we are not alone and even better, that you are not alone. The hole left in our lives by your absence will always be there, and there will be more tears and more pain over the years. But there is also peace and comfort and the hope that maybe the edges won't be quite so raw.
Here's what Matt had to say today, "Happy Heavenly Birthday Mom! We miss you everyday. We celebrate the life you lived and all the memories you gave. From cooking, baking and canning, to love you showed to our family each day. Thank you mom for those memories you gave that live in our hearts and will never fade. Love and miss you mom!"
Love,
Amanda
