I can't believe school starts tomorrow. I keep thinking about all the things we were going to do this summer but didn't accomplish. One thing we did accomplish though, was a trip to the zoo. We went with some friends on Friday as our farewell to summer trip.
Thanks to our zoo membership we got to do a lot of the "extras" that we normally don't get to see. We went to the sea lion show and had a great time watching the sea lions show off their skills. Hailey was impressed that they could do handstands and Micah loved that they could balance a ball on their nose.
We also got to touch the sting rays. I was impressed that all three thought this was pretty cool. My children tend to like their animals from a distance...not touchable. But they did great.
We also got to go through the Children's Zoo and pet goats and see other animals up close. Our train ride was pretty cool too. That was the first time I had been on the zoo train. Mari would repeat "All Aboard!" at every stop. We also rode the carousel.
Of course we saw lots of animals. I think the only disappointment was that we didn't get to see the new baby elephant.
We had a great day!
