So I have to be honest. I was not looking forward to Mother's Day this year...at all. I thought staying in bed, hiding under the covers, and having a bit of a pity party sounded lovely. So when my mom and sisters decided to go on our annual girls getaway over Mother's Day weekend, I struggled. I wanted to be excited for the trip but it was hard to look forward to it.
However, the trip was wonderful. It was exactly what I needed. I was
able to enjoy spending Mother's Day with my mom and sisters. We shopped,
we laughed, and we just enjoyed the opportunity to be together. We went
to Indianapolis and shopped some of the antique stores and downtown
areas and found some really cool stuff. We also hit the outlet mall and
literally closed it down...they turned the lights out on us in Banana
Republic. We were on such a roll that we didn't even stop for dinner. We
grabbed chicken wings from B-Dubs to go at like 10:00 that night. We
did pretty well and it was fun to get in some snuggle time with my
littlest nephew - he got to tag along as our supervisor, or something
like that.
The kids had waited up for me to get home on Sunday night so that they could give me the gifts and cards they had made for me. It was a wonderful welcome home from a fantastic weekend. I am blessed!
