This is an entry from Hailey's notebook that she recently began keeping. I saw it yesterday laying on her bed when I was sorting her laundry and I had picked it up and put it away to keep Mari from writing in it (as she has been known to do). I asked Hailey about it after school and she said that she would make me a copy. I believe she wrote it this past Friday after a little discussion we had on her picking up her room. She argued that it wasn't her mess (which was probably about 75% accurate due to the perils of sharing a room with your two-year-old sister). We talked about how our family works together to keep up our house and many times who made the mess isn't important. I happened to have been collecting laundry from her hamper for my daily load at that time and we talked about how I did everyone's laundry even though it wasn't all my mess. I guess that she took some of it to heart - and she did pick up her room without anymore whining.
Anyway, this made my day yesterday - and today rereading it - and for that I am thankful!
