I Can Explain

I can explain my blogging absence in four words...The Hunger Games Trilogy. I had purchased the books on my kindle with some gift cards from Christmas and was just waiting for the right time to read them. I knew once I started, little would get done until I had finished and I was right. Last Monday, I was sick and consequently had some time; so I started the first book about 6:30 Monday night and finished the final book on Wednesday evening. I enjoyed to books very much, but that meant that I had to spend Thursday and Friday trying to play catch up on some of the neglected tasks. Oops!

Now to catch up on my blogging... We celebrated my nephew Jack's fourth birthday on March 31st. He had a swimming party and we had a really good time playing in the water and trying out the kid's new puddle jumpers. Hailey was off and swimming immediately, Mari loved splashing and playing in the water, and Micah was a little mixed. He preferred to stay in the shallow end, where he could touch, even though he was wearing his new puddle jumper which held him above water very well. For Hailey, the most memorable part was when her Aunt Megan tossed her in the water with no regard for Hailey's no water in the face rule. She sputtered, had to go find a towel, but survived and retold the story with laughter. Watch out Megan - she's coming for you!

The birthday boy wanted a garbage truck cake and that is what he got! Happy Birthday Jack! We had fun!
