Mari was a trooper. With the rain, she ended up in the double stroller with a blanket draped over the top to keep her dry. She rode around and napped with hardly a peep even though she really couldn't see much. I had her in the carrier for a bit, but she got pretty restless.
Hailey and Micah had a blast with their new umbrellas, splashing in the puddles and watching the animals. We saw some really cool things. We got to see feeding time for the elephants, which included the baby elephant swimming and going after some bananas in the water. The hippos were pretty cool too. They were hanging out in the water and even came nose to nose with us through the glass.
Other favorites were the butterflies, giraffes, zebras, lions, and penguins. The baby giraffe was running all over the place and the penguins are always fun to watch. Micah was fascinated by all the animal poop. He just kept talking about it - so funny. We got up close with a huge snake and watched the leaf cutter ants work with great determination.
It was definitely a memorable day. I don't think we will forget our rainy day visit to the zoo any time soon.

Glad you had fun!! We went on Saturday before Easter and there were way too many people there. I think I would have rather dealt with the rain!!
