Well, it seems as if we may have found an antibiotic that is finally working for Hailey. Within 24 hours on the new antibiotic her 102/103 fevers were gone and you could just tell that she felt better. Saturday night when she went to bed she told me that she hoped she felt this good tomorrow...and she felt even better on Sunday. She is back at school after missing the entire week last week. At the risk of too much information, one of the side effects of this antibiotic is "alien poop." That term was coined by the nurse who called me on Friday to tell me that Hailey still had strep and we were going round three with a new antibiotic. I'm glad she informed us, otherwise the red poop would have been a cause for concern and not hilarity.
Micah is fighting off a cold, so hopefully he will start feeling better soon. It has been quite the winter. I keep thinking that as much as I dislike freezing temperatures, we really need it to get cold and stay cold otherwise we are going to be in for a difficult year bug wise and illness wise. Last week it was in the 50s and 60s...don't be fooled by the coats, my kids were sick and I wasn't taking any chances. Hailey kept asking to take of her hat...but I wasn't having it.
