I Can't Eat the Soup!

On Friday we managed to get Hailey to school so that she could participate in her class presentation of The Soup Opera that evening. Don't worry she was not contagious and was having a pretty decent day otherwise. Both sets of grandparents came to watch and she was so excited to be there.

Her role in the play was to hold up the word "Eat" in the refrain "I can't eat the soup!" which should be sung/said opera style. The basic story is that a man came to a restaurant and order a bowl of soup. He informed the waitress that, "I can't eat the soup!" She immediately got the chefs and the man told them again that, "I can't eat the soup!" The chefs got the police, the police got the mayor, and the mayor got the president. The play ends when the president asks why the man can't eat the soup and he says, "Because I have no spoon!" It was really cute and at the end they all ran up front to take a bow.

After the play, we enjoyed a soup buffet - and don't worry there were plenty of spoons. Everyone got to take home a Soup and Scripture book filled with the students' favorite soups and Bible verses. We brought a from scratch chicken noodle soup that was very good, if I do say so myself. And Hailey's Bible verse was of course...the one we have in our kitchen. "This is the day that the LORD has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

We ended the evening by going out for frozen yogurt.
