Ice Skating

Sunday afternoon, after Hailey's Christmas service, I took her to her first non-family, kid birthday party. At a skating rink, no less! She had a blast and wasn't intimidated to try something new at all. I had prepped her ahead of time, telling her that it was likely that she would fall, but that was okay, she could just get back up.

The first time around the rink, I had to hold the walker right behind her and provide her forward motion. After that though, she was able to move herself with the walker. We tried moving up to just my hand, but she felt much more stable using the walker, so we went with that. And she only fell once!

It had been a while since I had been on the ice. I skate just well enough to be picked on as "it" in a game of ice tag. Slow and steady...that's me!
