I wish we could do what they do in Katroo.
They sure know how to say "Happy Birthday to You!"
In Katroo, every year, on the day you were born
They start the day right in the bright early morn
When the Birthday Honk-Honker hikes high up Mt. Zorn
And lets loose a big blast on the big Birthday Horn.
And the voice of the horn calls out loud as it plays:
"Wake up! For today is your Day of all Days!"
- excerpt from "happy birthday to you!" by Dr. Seuss
Today is my twin nephew's first birthdays, and to celebrate, I'm going to share some pictures from their first birthday party that we went to this past Saturday. My sister and brother-in-law went all out for this party because they wanted to celebrate the people that have helped them get through this past year. They have gone from one child to three, a new job for my brother-in-law which meant a move. They lived with my parents while they sold their condo and then bought a house. This year has brought a lot of change for them. So the celebrated it all with a big party for Schaeffer (Thing 1) and Logan (Thing 2). Here's a link to my sister's blog for her take on the party.
They went with the theme of Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss's Cat in the Hat. Natalie did so much work getting all of the details just right and it was pretty impressive. There was a bounce house, a pool, swings, tents, decorations, and pictures; the works. The only major mishap was the cake. She worked so hard making a Cat in the Hat hat and it collapsed on her fifteen minutes before party time. I can only imagine what she felt in that moment. But it turned out fine. She salvaged the cake and the party went on as planned.

I became the official photographer for the Thing 1, Thing 2 photo booth! It was so fun getting pictures of everyone! My sister invited several of her friends and their families from the Chicago area and even her obstetrician who delivered the twins! There were so many kids running around it was hard to keep up. It was a great party Natalie!
