Splash Pad

On Wednesday evening we decided to go check out one of the area parks. I had recently heard that there was a water feature there and I was really hoping that it was a splash pad. A splash pad is a fountain that is designed to be played in. My sister used to talk about them when she lived in the Chicago area, and I see posts on facebook about them from people I know who live in the St. Louis area. I thought they sounded like a lot of fun and was hoping to make it to one someday.

So you can imagine my excitement to find out we have one in our own town! It is on the smaller side, but just as I expected, Hailey and Micah (and I) loved it!

Splash pads are so fun for me for several reasons: I can easily take three kids there by myself. They are usually free, and everybody can play! It is a great change of pace from playing in the sprinkler or baby pool in the backyard.

We played and laughed and got completely soaked in our clothes. Mari even got her feet wet.

We will definitely be back. It was a lovely ending to another hot day.
