Happy 5th Birthday Hailey Girl!

I'm now 5 years into this journey called motherhood and I can hardly remember life before kids. Today is my oldest daughter's 5th birthday and I just wanted to take some time to celebrate her!

At five years old, Hailey has a great imagination, spending hours playing with her doll house. She is extremely kind and compassionate and is a big help to all of us. While it can take her a while to warm up to new situations and people, once she does she is silly and crazy and fun.

She loves having a baby sister and asks often to hold her and to play with her. While she and her brother can certainly fight, she loves him fiercely. I can remember her holding an ice pack on Micah's cheek after a biting incident (obviously she was not the perpetrator). They are wonderful friends and she looks out for both her brother and sister.

I see so much of myself in her. She is an oldest; tentative yet wants to lead, caring but bossy, smart and cautious, difficult and helpful. She can frustrate me like no other, but in the next moment cause me to be struck by how amazing she is. She is sensitive and sweet.

She has brought me so much joy and happiness. Shown me how to love and be loved as only a child can. Her birth brought enormous changes to my life, but also incredible experiences. It's been a wild ride from her first cries, to her first, "I love you, mom;" from tantrums to the moments that took my breath away. She is my precious Hailey girl and I love her!
