How does your Garden Grow?

Our garden grows ... wild.

When we bought this house, we were excited to find that there was a fenced in garden behind the garage. It was built to keep the rabbits out and it does, except when you leave the gate open. Ask us how we know.

Obviously this is our first summer here and thus our first garden in this location. All I can say is wow. I don't know if it is the soil or the weather or a combination of both, but our garden is out of control.

The tomatoes are around 5 feet tall and w i d e and full of green tomatoes that are just starting to turn. In fact we just brought in our first harvest yesterday. I'm hoping to can some tomato sauce this year and Matt is looking forward to making some salsa. Our green beans and peas were fantastic. The broccoli and cauliflower plants were huge, but not big producers. We also had an abundance of spinach and have a lot of jalapenos. The cucumbers have started and we are hoping to have an egg roll party when the cabbage is ready.

And don't get me started on the weeds. We had a hard time keeping up with the weeding and have pretty much given up - mostly because it is too hot to go out and weed right now. So our garden is a little wild, but full of deliciousness.
