Busy Weekend

Wow! It has been a crazy fun weekend! I have so much to share, but it is going to take a few days. We had the Pumpkin Festival and my nephew's first birthday. Matt's birthday is tomorrow and in the midst of that Mariana had her half-birthday yesterday.

That's right, my baby is now six months old!

We didn't celebrate - it was Sunday and Sunday's for us are a little different than a typical family's Sunday. Matt heads to church around 6:30/7:00. I get up, get everyone fed and dressed and off to Sunday School (it starts at 9:15, but since I'm now teaching and my classroom requires set up I aim to be there about 8:30). Kids go to Sunday School and then we go to late service, which gets out at 11:30 or later. We hurry home for lunch (or out to eat) then it is nap time for Micah and in some cases the rest of us. Matt heads back into church at 2:30 for Confirmation at 3, youth at 4 and 6, and basketball at 8; he usually doesn't get home until 10 pm. I feed the kids CORN for dinner. CORN is Clean Out the Refrigerator Night just in case you were wondering. The kids and I don't really accomplish too much before I get everyone to bed. My main goal for Sunday is to get the meals planned for the coming week. So that is a typical Sunday for us.

So anyway, back to my new six month old...

Miss Mari has turned into such a flirty baby, for lack of a better word. She has really been turning on the charm lately. Big smiles, then a quick look away, reaching out to people, giggling, and all the fun baby eyebrow antics. She is still mama's girl though. She likes to be held most of the time. She is spinning circles on her tummy and has been practicing getting her tummy up off the floor, though I wouldn't say she's gotten up to her knees yet.

This morning at church she was trying to charm the teenage boy sitting behind us in church. I'm pretty sure she made him a little nervous. I think I heard him ask his mom why she was smiling at him. Too funny!

Happy six months Mari! We love you!
