Labor Day Weekend
After learning that Matt would be working all day Saturday, I decided to take the kids to my mom and dad's house for the weekend. They enjoyed what may be the last really hot day of the summer by playing in the sprinkler and swimming in the pond with Aunt Natalie, Uncle Paul, and Jack, Schaeffer, and Logan. I didn't swim today because I was taking care of Mari. Apparently there were a increased number "fish kisses" on this swimming adventure. Hailey was so excited to swim and even Micah was much more willing to get in the water.
Sunday brought cooler temperatures and a lazy day. After church Matt was able to join us for lunch then we went back to my parent's house and took a much needed and very long nap. Matt, Micah, Mari, and I slept about 4 hours. My mom had a shorter nap, and my dad and Hailey held down the fort. After my nap I went digging through a box our old chapter books and found several to bring home to read to Hailey. We started Ramona Quimby, Age 8 and she is loving it.
Monday we grilled out for lunch and then headed home in the late afternoon. It was such a restful weekend, something I haven't had in a long time. In fact, I can't remember the last time I had a nap. Thanks again Mom and Dad!
