Today I began my culinary journey back into the world of baby food. Yes, I try and make most of my kids baby food, simply because it is less expensive and not difficult. It just takes a little time.
So far Mari has had rice cereal, which she loves; avocado, which she did not like at all; and green beans, which she ate last night.
Yesterday I made green beans - I just steamed them and then used the blender to puree them with a little of the cooking liquid. I like to work in big batches and freeze in small containers.
She sort of liked the green beans. We had a few funny faces and baby "shudders," but she ate about half of the large portion I offered. I guess we are off to a good start. I think I'll introduce carrots next week.
I did not make Liliana's baby food - I was working full time and was lazy.
ReplyDeleteThis time, I decided there is not reason I can't make it. MJ really enjoys rice cereal (Liliana did not)
MJ does NOT appreciate Avocado, at all!
And then she's had some other things...but we've been on beans this past week - the first two bites she gagged on because they were a little more chunky than she prefers, but she got over it.
Blueberries gave her poop and butt a run for her money...so we returned to bananas for some regulation!
And now...she is ready for her beans...gotta go!
