I'm rubber, you're glue...

We've been playing a version of that game with Micah for the last couple of months. It sits on the fence between hilarious and disrespectful and I try to remind myself that he is only two.

Basically anything you say to him, he turns around and says back. For example...

I say, "If you do that again, you will go to time out."
He replies, "You go to time out." (the disrespectful example)

I say, "Micah, you are so funny."
He replies, "No, you are so funny."

I say, "Micah, you're 28."
He replies, "No, you're 28."
I say, "Thank you!"

And so it goes. I don't know whether to laugh at his ridiculousness or worry about his attitude. We tend to address it both ways. Engaging him in the game where we are all laughing. But trying to teach him when it crosses the line. This method is probably confusing for him, but sometimes it is so hard to resist the game...

"Micah, you're awesome."
"No, mom you're awesome."

I could so get used to that.
