Well, we actually tried to go on Saturday. Matt's sister came over early to bring us a couple of passes from his parents and we were all set to spend the day at the fair with her. But it was not to be. As we pulled into the parking lot, Matt is literally handing the attendant our five dollars and I hear Micah start crying in the back seat. I turn around to hear him say, "Mama, my tummy hurts." Then watched, in helpless horror, as he vomited all over himself, his carseat, and the floor of the van.
The attendant gave us our money back.
And we went home, leaving Aunt Reba at the fair alone.
We got everything all cleaned up and spent the day at home. By the way, why in the world do they make car seat covers that say "hand wash only?" Are you kidding me? Do these people have children? I machine washed, line dried just so you know.
Micah was fine - we actually think his stomach can't handle orange juice. He had another "orange juice vomit" this spring that I remember thinking it was a random puking. I'm not planning on testing my theory out anytime soon, we are just on an o.j. ban.
Anyway, we finally made it to the fair today after church. We went for lunch, lemon shake-ups, ice cream, and we sampled a deep-fried brownie (it was good, but nothing special). We watched a kid who was maybe 3, show his pig that had to have been at least 4 times his size, walked around and made a stop at Hailey and Micah's (and my) favorite place...The Dairy Building... to see the butter cow and get ice cream. Have I mentioned I really, really like ice cream, and my son does not. We really aren't sure where he gets that from and we keep thinking he will grow out of it soon.

We saw a little bit of a Christian Illusionist while we ate ice cream, got to pet a baby chick, and we watched the dive show. The "show" part of that was extremely lacking, but the diving was fun to watch. Hailey, Micah, and Mari all crashed on the car ride home. And...I forgot to grab the camera so you get the fantastic cell phone photo above. Maybe next year we will make it before the last day.
