It helps that her teacher uses twitter to let parents know a little about what they did in school that day. It aims me in the right direction when I'm
At least I know she is liking school. Tonight at bedtime she asked if they had a full day tomorrow, when I answered in the affirmative, she let out a fist pump and a big, "YES!" Yesterday she brought home half her lunch. Apparently she doesn't eat fast enough (shocking), so she ate the rest when she got home from school. Eating lunch at school is so novel to her and she loves it.
Matt generally handles drop off and pick up from school, since he works there and all. Since she would be riding with him, we bought her her booster seat. I'm not quite ready to move her from her five point harness in the family car yet - I'd like her to max out the weight first and she has 2 pounds to go- but for back and forth to school, the booster is perfect and she loves feeling like a big kid. She insisted on having Matt take her picture in it.
Thankfully, kindergarten has started out well. I'd love to hear from her more about what she is doing, but we'll get there someday, maybe. I think starting school has aged her, she looks so grown up to me.

I wondered why you started following my tweets. That's a fabulous idea. Maybe if I ever go back to teaching...
ReplyDeleteThis totally makes me laugh. John's answer to "How was school today?" is "Two Evie's". That's what he says every single day. There are two girls named Evie in his class, one of who he thinks is pretty. Although over the last few weeks we have expanded his repertoire of answers to tell us how many times he went potty. Eight hours a day there and I get "Two Evie's" and "Three times".
